Bon Jovi's appearence at Otro Rollo.
By María José Amuchastegui.

It all started when I heard that Bon Jovi were going to come to Mexico, in the moment I found out that I started calling to the TV show Otro Rollo where they would perform. As they didn't answer I sent a fax to ask them to give me 2 tickets to the show.

5 days before they went to the show the people form the TV show called me and told me that thay had 2 tickets for me, I should get there at 5 o'clock so they can give me the tickets, so I prepared and got there at 4 o'clock so I could get better places.

When I got there I found a guy that works there, he told me that all the tickets had been given at 11 o'clock, that there were no more tickets left. I decided to wait so that someone else could tell me what was going on.

In that moment 3 guys asked the same thing to the guy that works there, they are from Colima (a mexican state) and they had come to the first show that was cancelled, then another girl had the same situation, she also went to the show that was cancelled, she sent a fax and they told her that if she came at 5 o'clock they would give her 2 tickets.

I started talking to the girl and I realized that she was Flor, I was vey happy for meeting her because I admire her for all the efforts she has made for Bon Jovi.

Every 20 minutes we asked anyone what was happening, finally they told us that they didn't know anything at that moment, but if they'd have tickets for us, they'd know until 8:30, the show starts at 9 o'clock. Someone had the idea to number all of us, so that we could enter in the same order that we had arrived.

So we numbered and we had to wait until 8:40, one guy came out and told us that they always did the same thing, he told us that they wouldn't come out, but about at 8:50 4 guys that work in the show came out and told us to make a line according to the number we had, we made the line and passed us to a hallway, they gave us a paper that was a key to enter to the show. We entered to the show when it had already started, they told us to climb the stairs without making a noise.

The TV show started and the host gave a speach, the next thing was when Bon Jovi came down: Jon was wearing brown pants and a shirt of denim with the USA flag; Richie was wearing jeans, a beige sweater and a leopard pattern hat; Tico was wearing black leather pants and a black t-shirt; David was wearing jeans and a beige hat.

The first song they sang was "Everyday", then "It's my life", then for 2 segments they were interviewed, they talked about a lot of things: about their familiy and how they felt about being away from their family, about how a tour can be, about the fans, of how important is music in their lives, of how they'll keep on making records until the fans get tired of them.

Then they sang "Wanted Dead or alive", then "Misunderstood", the last song they sang was "You give love a bad name".

When they got to the show, everyone who was there got crazy, you could see how many people thinks that Bon Jovi is one of the greatest bands in the whole world. I think that a lot of people who got to see them had a dream come true, or at least I can say that they made one of my dreams come true, which was to see them so close.

What I admire most of them is that they are a genuine group, they make their own songs and besides they love what they are doing.

What admired me the most was that I could see that they truly love what they are doing, and that they enjoy every moment they are living. I love their way to prove the love to all of their fans.

Saturday, November 30th, 2002.
Bon Jovi in Mexico.

The band promoted Bounce all day long in Mexico City at
programs such as the late night show 'Otro Rollo'.

Jon Bon Jovi showed his behind, Richie Sambora showed his love for tequila, Tico Torres told about his three marriage's experience and Dave Bryan couldn't hide that he is the party animal in the band. That and more was what Bon Jovi offered at their visit to the Otro Rollo with Adal Ramones show, on tuesday night (Nov. 26th), where the band also performed five songs.

At around 22:00 hours the group arrived to studio 6 at Televisa San Angel, after a short performance at the inaugural Oye! Awards Ceremony, where they also received the Award to recognize them with the "International Career Spanning in Mexico Achievement Award".

Jon Bon Jovi, lead the entrance to his band, wearing boots and brown pants, as well as an american flag like printed shirt, without further show off and leaving all the details to the crew.

Meanwhile, at the studio, the audience was getting their voices ready to cheer the rock band, hoping to please them.

And the first explosion arrived.

"Everyday", the first single from their most recent album, Bounce, was the opening song. Then, the show's host welcomed them with a hug and the fun chat began.

"We have been to Mexico several times and its always a pleasure to come here, because we feel very welcome. No, we are not tired at all, as a matter of fact, we are ready to party", the leader and singer said when he was asked if so much traveling and working had worn them out.

       Adal interviews Bon Jovi

Ramones asked them how the band had began and it was then when Bon Jovi told how 20 years ago in New Jersey he joined his group to rehearse for three weeks and the legend was formed there.

Already warmed up, Ramones began to talk about the ethernal topic on groupies. When asked about girls that chase them before, during and after the concerts, the four members of the band only made facial gestures, mixed with a smile, as not wanting to talk about the subject.

"The girls are the best part of this job, but we cannot talk about that because we are married", Richie said, who was the one that expressed his opinion, not without a deafening roar from the audience that was already fired up.

And the studio got even hotter when everyone began shouting "turn, turn" and Jon Bon Jovi accepted the dare. He placed aside the pillow that he had on his lap, raised, and turned showing his back, on a gesture that provoqued the biggest reaction of the night.

Tico won the audience not only because of his charisma, but because he replied to the host's questions in Spanish.

The band members also talked about each of their family lives, as well as the mexican music that they have listed to (Maná) and promised that they will continue on getting records out in the market for as long as their audience wants, in a very special moment of the night, when Jon said a word in Spanish, referring to their career as lasting forever "siempre" he said.

Bon Jovi went back to the stage to sing "It's My Life" and "Wanted Dead or Alive", waving to the audience from afar.

They had another round of couch time with the host, and after that, the two closing songs of the evening were "Misunderstood" and "You give love a bad name",-

The Adal Ramones program has already been visited by several international celebrities, such as Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, amongst others.
